About Joshua

I’m Dr. Joshua Brooks, a physiotherapist dedicated to helping people recover, move better, and regain confidence in their bodies. My journey into physiotherapy started long before I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)—it began on the track field.
Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, I was an athlete through and through. I lived for competition until a hamstring injury in high school changed everything. The road to recovery was frustrating, but it introduced me to the power of rehabilitation. Seeing how movement, therapy, and patience could restore strength and confidence sparked something in me. I knew I wanted to help others do the same.
I pursued my DPT degree, specializing in sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, and functional movement therapy. Over the years, I’ve worked with athletes, weekend warriors, and everyday individuals striving to overcome pain and limitations. From professional sports clinics to personal rehab coaching, I’ve seen firsthand that recovery is about more than just healing—it’s about rebuilding strength, resilience, and trust in your body.
Now, through Move with Brooks, I focus on personalized, hands-on care that helps clients recover smarter, not just faster. Whether you’re bouncing back from an injury, improving mobility, or looking to prevent future setbacks, I’m here to guide you.
Because movement is more than just motion—it’s freedom. Let’s get you moving again.
My Journey: A Timeline of Growth & Passion
My path to becoming a physiotherapist started long before I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)—it began with my love for sports and movement. From experiencing my own injuries to helping others recover, every step has shaped who I am today.
📌 Early Years – Growing up in Atlanta, I was always active, playing sports and learning firsthand how movement impacts performance.
📌 College Years (2011) – I earned my Bachelor’s in Kinesiology at the University of Georgia, where I deepened my understanding of the human body and athletic performance.
📌 DPT Program (2014) – After years of study and hands-on experience, I graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Emory University.
📌 Building Experience (2014-2018) – I worked at Atlanta Sports Medicine & Performance Clinic, treating athletes and active individuals while refining my skills in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and biomechanics.
📌 Launching Move with Brooks (2018-Present) – I founded Move with Brooks, my private practice dedicated to helping people move better, recover faster, and regain confidence in their bodies.
📌 Today – With over a decade of experience, I continue to educate, mentor, and empower clients through customized rehab plans, injury prevention strategies, and movement-based therapy.
Every milestone has reinforced my belief: movement is medicine—and I’m here to help you move stronger, smarter, and pain-free.
